St Bernardino

Lately when I think of Tuscany I think of the movie, Under a Tuscan Sun. But something MUCH more important than a comfort movie is associated with Tuscany . . . and May 20th reminded me of that.
St Bernardino was a great Franciscan preacher who grew up in Tuscany in the 15th century. He was very successful at fostering devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus. In fact, the devotion has grown to fill the world.
St Bernardino proved to be one of the greatest preachers of all time.

BTW - the San Bernardino Valley in California was named after him by his brother Franciscans.
