Health Care Reform - I would like to congratulate Barack Obama in his victory over the American people

Hello socialism, nice to meet you.

All I have to say right now is

John 11:35

Jesus wept.

Out of sympathy with those who were in tears all around him, as well as from a deep sense of the misery sin had brought upon human nature.

and Matthew 15:13-14
He said in reply, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
Let them alone; they are blind guides (of the blind). If a blind person leads a blind person, both will fall into a pit."
Footnote from USCCB: [13-14] Jesus leads his disciples away from the teaching authority of the Pharisees.

and Galatians 6:7-8

Make no mistake: God is not mocked, for a person will reap only what he sows,
because the one who sows for his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows for the spirit will reap eternal life from the spirit.

See who voted yes and no here.
And is this just a political ploy or is this for real?
I asked a person much more knowledgeable than I and here was the answer.
The Congress that enacted the bill is unlikely to vote to repeal it and even if that miracle happened, the President would veto and there certainly is no super majority to override.

I don't know what kind of evil Christ lives in your imagination - one who would refuse to care for the sick because he doesn't want to pay, one who worships his pocketbook, Christ the Accountant. I guess there's no limit to the ways in which you can twist the message to serve your selfish interests.

What a hateful comment.

It is not in the government's authority to force taxpayers to pay to kill unborn babies.
THAT is the part of the bill I find appalling. The dollars and cents of it make no sense either.
It is a poorly written bill, imho.

It is a leap of hatred filled faulty logic to form the conclusions that you have formed about me.

How have I lead you to believe that I think Christ "would refuse to care for the sick"?

Do you honestly think that Christ would be happy with this health care reform bill?

This is quite sad, Soutenous. Christ never argued a point in his many sermons using hatred, but rather, parables. "pogperson" isn't even brave enough to allow us to go to their blog site. COWARD!

Now, as I was going to say, I understand that there are many with no or little healthcare. There are also millions of free-loaders on welfare. What's the answer? A lot of responsibility for the dwindling Social Security program and a lot of other health programs is directly related to the welfare fraud.

So if we are following The Bible, these many things have been foretold to us. I ask "pogperson", do you not believe that some will suffer unimaginable times for 7 years before they will be judged? God has told us all time and time again, "follow me if you want to enter into my Father's Kingdom [sic]".

I completely agree with you Soutenous and it is so sad that people must resort to hatred and in the name of Christ, no less.

How are you doing, my sweet friend? Did you have a good weekend? I finally figured out who you were on my email list, so I may be writing privately soon.

In the meantime, go to your prayer place and ask for God's comfort, and though they are so misguided, we have to pray for those in power. I don't think it will do any good for them, but at least we will be doing what is right!

PEACE, LOVE AND COMFORT,
ABBEY
