Here am I, Lord; I come to do your will

As I was driving to school today I heard on NPR that Obama would probably be reversing the the Mexico City Policy, which will allow federal funds to be spent on abortions overseas.

I knew this -- I posted on it yesterday. I suddenly felt so weary.

It feels like such an uphill battle before us and I can't even get it together enough to be 100% consistent on a simple novena.

I thought, "What I do is nothing. It helps nothing in the greater scheme of things." I felt pretty insignificant as a warrior for God.

Then I read today's readings and the Respnsorial Psalm hit home.

R. Here am I, Lord; I come to do your will.
I announced your justice in the vast assembly;
I did not restrain my lips, as you, O LORD, know.
R. Here am I, Lord; I come to do your will.
May all who seek you exult and be glad in you,
And may those who love your salvation say ever, “The LORD be glorified."
R. Here am I, Lord; I come to do your will.
from Psalm 40

Well, my "assembly" may be just my online notebook and my family but I did announce. The evil one is slick indeed and despair is one of his weapons.
My plan? To keep announcing, to the best of my ability, to pray and to trust God. The LORD be glorified!

This is a good post - very honest. It makes me feel like there are people out there that feel like I do. That helps.
I like the Weary Moon picture, too. Art and words that fill up my heart.
Keep "announcing" --- some of us are agreeing and gain strength from your boldness (ie: Starbucks)
I hope you do not get fired for your boldness though because some administrators are very shallow.
I personally would quit and make a big deal of why if that happened.

God bless you.

Obama just reversed the policy, if you have not already heard.

I just was texting my daughter about it. Did not know --

how "appropriate" (dripping sarcasm here) on the anniversary of Roe v Wade.

Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy.

Keep announcing...your message does get out there. I can't tell you how many times I mentioned one of your posts at the dinner table...and then my sons mention it in school...and then it spreads. You are a wealth of information and inspiration...and you are heard.
