Preparing for the Mass - July 20, 2008

Getting ready for Sunday readings with kids is an especially nice way to help kids get the most out of the Liturgy of the Word @ Mass. Sadler has a website that is a great resource on the web.

For those of us who are young at heart but too old for the child's menu . . . . here is a great website to help us prepare for Mass.

I'd like to send a big H/T out to Father Fleming @ A Concord Pastor Comments for reminding me about these websites!

I'm sure someone has done a good job of explaining this, but it seems to me that the more I read Romans, the more I see where Paul is expounding on the thoughts of the Book of Wisdom. Seeing them there in the readings together just reinforces my opinion.

Joseph,
I see what you mean. Now I need to go bury my nose in both books of the Bible.
Would you tell me if you find more on this?

I'm still looking. I think I'll ask my priest, because I'm almost positive something is out there about this. I've even been struck at how many times the Church has paired the two books together in official readings.

Heb. i. 3, iv. 12; comp. Wisdom vii. 22, 26. Check these out. I think I'll do a blog post on it.....

Just got home from a 5 hour road trip -- I am excited to read the verses you've noted.
I will be looking for the post, too!

I hope you had fun! The last two posts I made were on Wisdom and Romans actually.
