Meme Game

The Catholic Warrior tagged me!

Rules of the meme:
1. Post these rules of the game first.
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
3. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names.
Then the tagger goes to the blogs of those who have been tagged & leaves a comment letting new players know they’ve been tagged. The tagger asks them to find the meme and instructions back at his/her blog.

What I was doing 10 years ago:

  • I was pregnant with my son,
  • traveling to a different state and city every week with my job and
  • our family was facing death threats due to a horrendous situation at my husband's work place. He had found some incriminating evidence that proved fund misappropriations on a huge scale. Unfortunately the authorities were part of the corruption.
10 years ago began a nightmare that forever changed my faith in our (America's) judicial system. The good that came of that nightmare is that we have come to rely on God more. My husband became an inspiration to our family because of his honesty and unwavering resolve. He forgave those who hurt him (physically, as well as many other ways). I still struggle with the anger and fear . . . . and he still guides me back to God.

Five things on my To Do List today:
  1. proctor standardized testing at my school
  2. teach "After School Dance"
  3. finish painting living room shelves
  4. buy groceries (we are looking at a bare frig)
  5. treat the dog's hot spots

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
  1. Build a retreat center for Franciscan University in Ohio
  2. Pay off all bills & set up trust funds for my children
  3. Financially back the building of a Catholic High School north of Houston
  4. Generously support ministries of my parish
  5. replace our vehicles (one has over 120K miles and the other has over 220K miles and the lower mileage vehicle is not working right now)

Three of my bad habits:
  1. procrastination
  2. selfishness
  3. caffeine

Five places I have lived:
  1. Pennsylvania
  2. North Carolina
  3. Houston
  4. Bryan/College Station (Gig 'em!)
  5. New Orleans (literally on the banks of the Mississippi)

Five jobs I’ve had:
  1. Pre-school, Elementary, Middle, Jr. High School Teacher & University Prof
  2. Renaissance Festival @ the Jacobs Ladder (when it was over 9 feet high - they have lowered it since my days at the Ren, the wimps!! LOL)
  3. Modern Dance company dancer, choreographer and stage director
  4. Adjudicator for an international Dance Competition Company
  5. Technology department coordinator

Five people I want to know more about (a nice way of saying TAG!):
  1. Bia @ LaDolceVita
  2. CatholicMom of 10
  3. Christi @ Mum2Twelve
  4. Lisa @ Are We There Yet
  5. Radical Catholic Mom

Sounds fun. I'll try and have it done by tomorrow.

What you went through ten years ago concerning your husband's job sounds frightening, but it seems to have made you a stronger person/couple.

God bless.

I'm very sorry to hear you and your husband underwent such troubles.

Wow! Death threats. We experienced those threats, too, with my hubby's old job! Sounds very similar. Praise God he has a new job!!!
