Houston Friends!!

Fullness of Truth Bookstore! For directions to this beautiful store, click here...
We are delighted to be able to present Michael Cumbie live. Mike is a former Protestant minister who came into full communion with the Catholic Church in 2001. His journey is an amazing one, and his presentation style will enlighten you and keep you laughing throughout. He is not to be missed! Mike’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, and, of course, shopping! The evening will end at about 9 pm. (To learn more about Michael Cumbie and his ministry, click here...)
Come by and learn about the exciting things we have planned at the store. This includes Catholic bible studies; interesting seminar series (for example, “Why Be Catholic, When You Can Be Anything Else?” and “Why Did YOU Leave The Catholic Church?”), some locally and nationally known speaker presentations (including Tim Staples of Catholic Answers); and some exciting and challenging debates. The details on these projects are still in the works, so please visit us often to stay on top of things. We will also be developing an email distribution list to keep you posted. . The store’s mission is to offer an additional forum for evangelization and catechesis for the North Houston Catholic community. In this regard, we believe in and support the June 29, 2007, statement of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which was ratified and confirmed by Pope Benedict: According to Catholic doctrine, these Christian Communities [the Christian communities born out of the Reformation of the Sixteenth century] do not enjoy apostolic succession in the sacrament of Orders, and are, therefore, deprived of a constitutive element of the Church. These ecclesial Communities which, specifically because of the absence of the sacramental priesthood, have not preserved the genuine and integral substance of the Eucharistic Mystery cannot, according to Catholic doctrine, be called “Churches” in the proper sense.” (To view this document in its entirety, click here...)

Put more simply, we are mainline Catholic laity in love with Holy Mother Church and loyal to the Magisterium. Nothing more, and nothing less. We love our Protestant brothers and sisters, and believe that their denominations do indeed contain elements of truth – in some cases much truth. We therefore do not adopt a “good versus evil” mentality towards them, and we discourage any such behavior as part of our ministry. We want to be a resource for both Catholics to become better and more faithful Catholics, and, also, for our separated Protestant brothers and sisters to learn the Fullness of Truth, and to return to, or join for the first time, the one true Church that Jesus Christ started on earth 2000 years ago. To this end, we operate with the full support of Archbishop DiNardo. (To see Archbishop DiNardo’s letter of support, click here...
